Qualified Master Photographer

Many couples ask me, with so many photographers out there how do we choose?

This is a very good question and one I aim to answer by simply striving to be a leader of my craft, one way I do this is by putting my work up to be judged continually.

I am certified and qualified master photographer with the Master Photographers Association, why does that matter to you?

Certified means my business has passed all the stringent checks which ensure things like I have the relevant insurances, appropriate risk assessments and safety practices to meet the requirements of the wedding venue you choose.

Qualified means I have been awarded the status of a master photographer, to achieve this you have to submit a panel of images to be judged by some of the UK’s finest photographers.

If the above wasn’t enough I also submit three images every month to the Master Photographers Association to be critiqued which ensures my wedding photography is always of a consistently high standard.

I do this so when a couple asks me what makes me different from all the other photographers out there, I can give them proof and reassurance that choosing James Thomas Photography is the right decision.

James did such an amazing job as our wedding photographer, we are absolutely over the moon with our photos and our beautiful album. James went above and beyond to capture all of the details of our special day and nothing was too much trouble for him. He is extremely professional and had lots of ideas for shots. He was also very relaxed on the day and made us feel very comfortable and was happy to go with the flow of what we wanted. It was also great that an engagement shoot was included in the package as this helped get us used to being in front of the camera and gave us an idea of the sorts of poses that worked well for us. We also loved our engagement shoot photos. I would highly recommend James and cannot thank him enough for the wonderful job he did for us. We will definitely use him again for other events (May 2022)

Leasha and Mark - Leez Priory

Experienced Wedding Photographer…

I have had the pleasure of photographing weddings at many Essex wedding venues as well as further afield. Some of these venues include Channels, Leez Priory, Fennes, Colville Hall, Gosfiled Hall to name just a few.

I have photographed weddings at some of the UK’s most prestigious venues such as St Johns College in Cambridge and am honoured to be a recommended supplier at various venues.

So how do you find the right wedding photographer for you?

Wedding photography is saturated with cheap wedding photographers however they come with the risk of being unreliable, unprofessional, uninsured, without professional-grade equipment and backup equipment.

So what should you look for in a wedding photographer? Should you look for price, style, personality, quality or experience? Of course, all of those things are important. As an experienced wedding photographer, I know how much planning my couples put into their weddings and how important it is to help make sure everything runs smoothly and calmly. I am very aware that your wedding day is not a photoshoot so I make sure the photography is done in an unobtrusive manner maximising the time you have to soak up the day and spend with your friends and family.

For some reassuring words from my happy couples, please take some time to read through my testimonials.
