Working Together We Will Create Timeless Wedding Memories You Will Treasure
If you like what you have seen so far, allow me to take you through what happens next if you wish to engage my services.
Book a Wedding Consultation
The next step is to arrange a time to meet. Initially, this can be a telephone or skype call or we can sit down over coffee and discuss what you have in mind for your wedding photography. This gives me a chance to learn more about you as individuals and learn more about the type of images and styles you particularly like.
There are always lots of questions to be asked and I can offer sound advice on planning the photography into your day. The advice I give is not limited to the consultation, you can contact me any time, right up to your wedding day with any questions, need advice or even just reassurance.
Making a booking
At this stage, I will just require a few details from you to create a contract. I will also provide you with a digital form for you to think about the group shots you would like; you will have plenty of time as I will only need this back a couple of weeks before your big day. I can help you work out how much time to allocate to the photographs you have requested, but I am very flexible so if times need to change as the big day gets nearer, that’s absolutely fine.
You will have the option of having a pre-wedding (engagement) shoot where we can capture some stunning portrait images of you both and get you used to being in front of the camera. It’s a great opportunity for you to get to know me and how I work, as well as me getting to know you and how you are in front of the camera. This is the perfect opportunity to try out any ideas you might have or any I may have suggested to you. There is no time pressure, so we can really let the creativity flow and capture something really special; these photos make a great gift for relatives too.

Photographing your wedding
When the big day arrives, I will be there to capture every moment – all the emotion, the tears of joy, the proud parents; every aspect of the day will be documented along with various natural and posed images. I will take care of the photography, ensuring you don’t have to worry about a thing. Where possible, I will liaise with the bridesmaids and best man to organise the photography for you. My main focus is now ensuring you enjoy your wedding day. As we would have already had many conversations, I will know exactly what you want on the day and be fully briefed in capturing all your wedding memories.
After your wedding
Once I leave your wedding, my main focus is getting your images uploaded to my editing computer and backed-up as quickly as possible. This is done on the same day as soon as I get back to the studio. Once the images are on the computer, they then get synced with a cloud backup server over the next couple of hours ensuring I have multiple copies of the files. I leave nothing to chance and I won’t rest until I know your images are fully backed up both onsite and offsite.
The next step is the editing process; all your images are captured in the highest quality RAW format and individually processed ensuring the results match the creative vision. From herein, they may receive some fine tuning in Photoshop just to ensure perfection before being exported ready to be delivered.
At this stage, I will upload the images to an online gallery, where you can share them with all your friends and family and arrange for delivery of the USB drive, or if preferred a download link containing all the finished images.
If you have booked an album choice, a custom design will be prepared using your selected images, you will get an opportunity to see an online proof before the design is sent off to the album company to be printed. It’s then just a case of waiting for it to arrive before you can share it with all your friends and family. Viewing a finished album is such a great part of this creative process; seeing all the hard work and dedication come together into a finished product showcasing your day is an amazingly rewarding feeling.
Planning is key…
I know only too well how busy life can get, this is why I go to great lengths to take any stress away from planning your wedding photography with you.
I start talking to my couples about their timelines very early on. If there are certain images you would like captured, it is my job to make sure I get them for you.
This means planning! I will start by checking the sun-times for your wedding day. From here I can work out the best times to get the bespoke images you want, be it a sunset shot or it maybe you want some twilight shots. Whatever you decide, I’ll make it happen.
Of course, there are many photographs that are a must-have at your wedding, all the classic images such as cutting the cake, the first dance, and the formal group shots to name a few. I will capture all those images as well as many you may not have thought of.
When a couple entrusts me to photograph their wedding, there really is no greater honour. Your wedding is a once in a lifetime event which is why I put so much time into understanding the images important to you.
I love looking for the next wow factor image, discussing the ideas with my couples and ultimately putting everything together to create something really special.
Experienced Essex wedding photographer…
Although you may find it hard to believe, my photography experience originates back to the days of film and processing images in a darkroom. I am quite nostalgic about those days, but absolutely love being a wedding photographer in the digital age. I have photographed many weddings at some of the most stunning locations in the south-east of England so you can rest assured I have an extensive array of photography experience to provide you with memories you will cherish.
“I would wholeheartedly recommend James for his creative eye, his energetic work ethic and considerate customer service.
James’s passion for photography is incredible – he was brimming with ideas, he worked diligently to get the particular results we wanted and he is great fun to work with.
We’re so glad we made the right choice. Thank you, James, for being our wedding photographer. Sarah and I are absolutely thrilled with the photos of the day – and the presentation box for the USB stick was such a thoughtful touch.”
