Essex Wedding Photography at The Compasses at Pattiswick

What an incredible wedding this was to photograph, Jody and Ashley said they wanted lots of photographs which are always words I love to hear.

Del Boys Three-Wheeled Van

Ashlet arrived at The Compasses at Pattiswick in Del Boys three-wheeled Reliant Robin van, Jody had tipped me off that this was going to happen but it was a surprise she had arranged for him. As a huge Only Fools and Horses fan myself, I was really looking forward to this, seeing the van coming down the Essex country lane was quite a sight and will be a very memorable wedding moment for me. I knew we had to get some iconic images, so we created a few scenes from the show but one that I thought would be really good is the scene where Del and Rodney are sitting in the van after just finding out they had become millionaires – Lovely Jubbly!

Essex Winter Wedding Photography

Jody had asked me to get them some of the creative night shots that I have become quite well known for now. As this was a winter wedding and knowing Jody was a Disney fan I thought it would be nice to bring a little bit of Disney to Essex and create a vintage snow scene. I’m not sure if the scene we created is from a Disney film, but it had that magical feel to it. I sprinkled some artificial snow on Ashley and roped in a couple of assistants to spray some fog spray behind them. A lantern and few carefully placed off-camera lights later and I was able to bring my vision to life and create what I hope will be a treasured photograph for the couple for years to come.

A Fantastic Essex Wedding Venue

The Compasses at Pattiswick is a great  Essex venue and offers many opportunities to get some fantastic wedding photographs even in the middle of winter. The great thing about the venue is that it not only offers some really nice areas outside, the inside also lends itself very nicely to getting some great photographs. It is surrounded by beautiful Essex Countryside and I know from previous weddings it is amazing in the summer too so definitely worth checking out.
