I recently visited Hedingham Castle to do an engagement shoot for Charlie and Abbie. It’s an amazing venue in the north Essex countryside, it offers so many great backdrops for wedding and engagement photography from the historic castle to the beautiful countryside within the grounds. When we were discussing potential locations for their engagement shoot I was very happy they picked Hedingham castle as I knew we would get some great photographs.

Hedingham Castle is a 900 year old Norman keep surrounded by 160 acres of beautiful countryside and woodland, it is definitely worth checking out if you are looking for am Essex wedding venue that offers amazing scenery and photographic opportunities.

We were very fortunate with the weather allowing us to take advantage of several of the outside locations to get some great shots, this combined with some from around and inside the castle meant I was able to get Charlie and Abbe a great mix of different styles. Hedingham castle has a beautiful lake which you can see in some of the images, it’s so picturesque and a real pleasure to photograph.

The shoot lasted about two hours giving us plenty of time to wander the grounds and castle taking full advantage of all the photographic opportunities. Engagement shoots are a great way to get used to being photographed, they help couples to be more relaxed in front of the camera on their big day
