Jemma and Adam’s Wedding at The Rose Barn on the Warren Estate

My last wedding of 2018 was at a stunning venue near Maldon in Essex, The Rose Barn on The Warren Estate. Christmas is a time of year I really love and there is something magical about photographing weddings with all the Christmas decorations out and the staff at The Rose Barn had decorated this venue beautifully.

The day started in Maldon for bridal preparations before heading off to Rose Barn. On arrival, the bridal party was taken to the bridal suite, which was festively decorated and a perfect location to get some shots of everyone looking stunning. While the bridal party was having some time to relax I had the perfect opportunity to find the groom to get some shots of him and the Ushers ahead of the ceremony. Shooting a wedding is such a rewarding experience and a privilege to be a part of.

I first met Jemma and Adam back in the summer when I photographed their engagement shoot at Papermill Lock. I took the engagement shoot as an opportunity to help them relax and be comfortable in front of the camera. This also helped me get to know them and the type of images they like so I knew photographing their wedding would be a lot of fun. Check out the images I captured at the engagement shoot here: https://www.jamesthomasphotography.co.uk/blog/paper-mill-lock-engagement-shoot

The Rose Barn is a stunning venue, offering lots of traditional character mixed with a touch of modern elegance. Jemma and Adam’s wedding ceremony was at 3 pm, meaning the group shots would have been captured in the dark, although not a problem as I have advanced lighting equipment, but as The Rose Barn has a beautiful light oak staircase the couple wanted to utilise it so I arranged the group images inside – much to the guest’s satisfaction as they could stay in the warm! The Rose Barn has an array of great indoor scenery for wedding photography so whatever the weather you can be sure to capture some great images with beautiful backdrops.

The Rose Barn is a beautiful 18th Century Barn set in 320 acres of rolling countryside on the Warren Estate offering bit of everything, It was a pleasure to work there for the day, the staff were all very helpful and the day ran like clockwork.
